Circuit Rider Program:
 FUNDED BY NATIONAL RURAL WATER ASSOCIATION THROUGH RURAL UTILITIES SERVICE. Granite State Rural Water Association has two (2) Circuit Riders covering the state providing technical assistance to water system personnel on the daily operations of their system. These services include on-site visits and information on Safe Drinking Water Act rules and regulations, water quality analysis, disinfection and chemical feed, treatment processes, distribution maintenance, line and valve locations, security and emergency response, vulnerability assessments, pump and motor maintenance and rate structures.

Wastewater Technician Program:  FUNDED BY NATIONAL RURAL WATER ASSOCIATION THROUGH RURAL UTILITIES SERVICE. Granite State Water Association provides on-site technical assistance throughout the State of New Hampshire with one (1) wastewater technician. Technical assistance provided includes treatment plant operations, maintenance, finance, management, regulatory requirements (EPA and DEQ permits), health concerns and operator certifications. The wastewater technician can also offer assistance for systems that will be constructing new treatment plants along with security, emergency response, and wastewater vulnerability assessments.

State Circuit Rider Program:  Funded by NH Department of environmental services, GSRWA has a State Circuit Rider Program.  The goals of this program are to assist small public water systems (<10,000 population) with addressing water quality issues, perform leak detection surveys and provide technical and managerial assistance as it related to the Safe Drinking Water Act.

Technical Training Assistance Program:  FUNDED THROUGH ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY. Granite State Rural Water Association has one TTA Program Specialist covering the state. This program provides technical assistance to systems throughout the state. The program also provides training sessions across the state to keep systems updated on Safe Drinking Water Act rules and regulations. The training hours received are used to comply with state re-certification requirements.

The following programs have been suspended:

effective March 31, 2008 - Source Water Protection Program:  Funded by National Rural Water Association, GSRWA has a Source Water Protection Program, through the USDA.  The goals of this program are to assist rural and small communities served by public water systems to reduce or eliminate the potential risks to drinking water supplies through the development of Source Water Protection Plans and provide assistance to entities for the implementation of contamination prevention measures using one technician per program to cover the state.

effective May 15, 2007 - Groundwater Protection Program:  FUNDED THROUGH ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY. Through this program, GSRWA provides on-site technical assistance and training to small communities and rural water systems in the development of their Wellhead Protection Plan. This program is done throughout the State of New Hampshire with one (1) Groundwater Technician. The objectives of this plan are to identify areas that need protection, plot potential sources of contamination, and develop a plan of procedures to respond to a crisis should one arise.
